International City: Living Cosmopolitan Neighborhood
A cosmopolitan community of over 75 nationalities, International City is a home to different architectural wonders to combine the architectural style of 10 different and famous cities of the world. Along with it provides 5 main thematic districts.
A Nakheel development, International city is divided to five districts: Residential District, Central District, Dragon Mart Complex, Lake District and Forbidden City. The five districts stretch over an 800-hectare plot, forming a network of living, working, shopping and leisure centers to truly create a micro-city within Dubai. While its diversity makes it a uniquely different destination, the harmony and the like-mindedness shared in this community turns International City into a great place to call home.
Residential District
It will have 413 buildings currently most of the project is completed and handed over which is being used by about 60000 residents. It has a living capacity of 120000 people and will be using 23847 residential units. It also has 5245 retail units to cater the daily needs of the residents.
Central District
Within its 21 hectares are state-of-the-art infrastructure and services for commerce. Thirty-four plots have been allotted for investors to develop their own projects within International City. The Central District consists mainly of 10-storey towers with retail outlets on the ground floor and basement parking for 130 vehicles.
Lake District
With 34 mid rise 7-12 storey buildings and 2 seventeen storey towers the Lake District is a unique living experience on the edge of a Lake where everything is inspired by the nature.
Forbidden City
Set in a 240,000-square-metre plot, this development will host a variety of entertainment facilities in addition to retail, restaurants, public squares and authentic Chinese-themed displays. More details will be revealed as work on Forbidden City progresses.
Dragon Mart Complex
The complex has eight fully equipped warehouses to service traders and wholesalers. Packed with an extensive range of retail products for both trade and consumer markets, it serves as a permanent commercial venue for over 3,000 Chinese companies to display and sell their wares. A tourist attraction in its own right, the complex is home to a number of showrooms, restaurants and food outlets. Dragon Mart also provides a range of services for both the traders and International City residents such as banks, ATM machines, a business centre and post office.
