Nujoom Island: Island of Stars

Nujoom Islands is the largest commercial, residential and tourism development project ever build for the city of Sharjah. It will cover 60 million square feet (5.6 million square meters) of coastal land on the northeastern coast of Sharjah, along the shores of the Arabian Gulf, 9.32 miles (15 kilometers) from the center of Sharjah. It will be accessible from the Ettihad Road, which crosses the southern side of the project, and the Emirates Road, which connects to the project through an 8 kilometer strip.

With 1400 waterfront villas to accommodate over 40,000 residents the project will cost US $4.9 billion and will complete in a period of 5 years. Its 60% area will be landscaped with beaches, gardens and parks. Nujoom Island will consist of 10 islands separated by water channels. The idea of 40% land with construction and 60% with landscaping was to save the residents of the area from environmental pollution effects and to give the island a lush green natural look.

Islands will be interconnected by bridges and contain 40 high rise residential and commercial purpose buildings. 145 apartment buildings, four hotels and two resorts, five marine clubs a hypermarket, nine light industrial sectors, two entertainment centers, schools, banks, stores, coffee shops and restaurants will also be the main features of this unique project.

Nujoom Islands is being built by Saudi-based real estate company Al Hanoo Holding Company, which is also the company behind Sharjah's Emirates Industrial City. Nujoom Island will also present:

Old Town
The Old Town combines the prestigious past and the modernity of the present in its old souk reminiscent of the ancient emirate traditions, where people can stroll along the narrow and intricate alleys, in an ambience filled with nostalgia and enriched with heritage.

Al Hilal Avenue
This avenue has a strategic location at the entrance of the project, Nujoom Gate. It includes one of the major facilities of the project, the business center. This sub-project is built based on the most contemporary architectural standards, it includes residential towers, numerous offices and services aimed at businesses and provided with state-of-the-art amenities, parks, mosques and restaurants.

Al Mazdar Plaza
A commercial center considered as one of the main features in Nujoom Islands, which includes:

• The Business and Financial Center which includes a number of modern business towers embracing a wide area with fountains and landscapes
• The main shopping mall with three floors along with a huge hypermarket
• The main hospital offering advanced health services to the residents
• The main mosque
• A number of towers with spas and convenience facilities

Al Badar Community:
A coastal residential strip; overlooking the sea and distinguished by its strategic location. It includes schools for all stages and an iconic mosque.

Al Shamas Island:
With natural views of the water from all sides, Al Shams Islands has a unique location which overlooks the water from all sides in addition to its views of the Old Town and Al Hilal Avenue.
